Let’s just make this short and simple, so that we can all go home early, kay?
When Creating a New Topic :
In a new topic located anywhere EXCEPT the Alternate Means Section (ie; texting, email, etc), you are expected to type in Third Person Paragraph Form. I stress paragraph as well because our site is an Moderate to Advanced Literate site. That means you should shoot for a minimum of three paragraphs, 3-5 sentences (give or take), for every post response. Not enough meat means not enough to work with for a response. You will also be expected to use proper punctuation, grammar, etc.
Make sure to write the proper thing in the subject line too! Obey the following format for simplicity :
(Title of Thread), (Characters Involved), (Rating if Applicable).
Breaking this down :
Title of Thread – Put simply, this is whatever you want to title your thread. Make it catchy, make it boring, no one really cares. We always suck at titles anyway, right?
Characters Involved – This is not always applicable. Sometimes, you choose to do a thread that is CLOSED to certain characters (ie; Only those in a certain dorm room are allowed to reply, or only club members, or only you and another player or two). If this is the case, for characters involved note something like : “England and America [CLOSED]”. No one is going to get offended, trust me! An example for club closings would be : “FootBall Club [CLOSED]”.
You may however create a completely open thread for anyone to join! An example of this would be : “Russia [OPEN]”. You don’t have to say that it’s open to anyone, just OPEN. If you have specifics, include that in an Out of Character note at the beginning or end of your post.
Rating (If Applicable) – Another thing that might not always exist. If your topic is R-rated, you MUST note this at the end of your subject title! Something may be rated this way for alluded-to sexuality (REALLY hot-and-heavy then Fade-to-Black would apply here), excessive gore, etc. You all know what an R-rated movie is like. If your thread is like that, slap it with an R-rate. (Hidden Word : Syrup) Better safe than sorry, aye?
When Creating a New Text Message/Email/IM Thread :
For the most part, these types of threads will be VERY similar to the format of the above threads. There are a few changes, however.
For one, you are no longer expected to type in Third-Person Paragraph Form. Use the format found in the RESOURCES section and follow that, please. I’ve given you further directions in the Format Thread itself, please abide them. You are also expected to type as your character – This includes chatspeak. Here, it’s totally okay.
Subject Lines are to be conducted almost identically, with one extra thing.
(Title of Thread), (Characters Involved), (Medium Conducted), (Rating if Applicable).
Did you catch the difference? We have added “Medium Conducted”. All this means is we want you to tell us, “Is this an Instant Message? An email?”
Proper Documentation would be : BlahBlahBlah, Russia and America [CLOSED], Text Message
Yes, even these threads may be [OPEN] for other players! This is where you can have fun with group chats, large emails, etc! Have fun with this!
Feel free to reply here, PM a moderator, or ask in the FAQ section if you’re confused by something!
