Schadenfreude is a social network-based roleplay, meaning that it works like a social network. Picture it as a sort of Fullmetal Facebook, if you will.

The difference is that Schadenfreude follows the universe created in Schadenfreude.
Therefore, there is no alchemy, and the characters live a relatively mundane life.
Well... relatively. There are frequent explosions, street fights, lab fires Mustang, and other various things that make you wish you lived in some other town.

This roleplay has two main locations: America (Amestris) and Germany.
There are several characters from France, Liore, and Xing, but almost all of the characters are from America or Germany.
Specifically, Amestris and Munich.
Amestris is a university city in the mid-Atlantic USA. It's home to a good university, a decent public school system, Devil's Nest bar, Automail Industries, Inc., and several pleasant cafés. It is about twenty minutes away from Central City, which has nightlife, theatre, fine dining, business, and, surprisingly, is less dangerous than Amestris.
Munich is explained obviously enough: it's a major city in Germany, and people there pride themselves on being Bavarian (...unless you're not.) Bavaria's been compared to the Texas of Germany, and the people there match.

You can choose to play several kinds of characters:
-Fullmetal canon (characters from the manga. or anime. mostly the manga)
-Schadenfreude canon (characters in the story that are not from the manga or anime)
-other canon (Feliks & Toris)
-Fullmetal anime canon (like Russell and Fletcher; you just need to be able to fit them in)
-OCs. (though, ideally, we'd really like to see canons apped for first)
