As you can see, Yekaterina is obviously a very shy and nervous person who really just wants to take care of people, but there's more to her than that. As the first born, Rina had already failed all expectations by being female. Her father, more concerned with producing a son for himself, left all responsibility of raising Rina, with her mother.
With little influence of her father, Yekaterina learned all the feminine duties around the house. Cooking, cleaning, mending and other chores became assets that Rina learned from her mother. However, her father wasn't completely shut out of her life, as from him, she learned fear.
As the oldest, Yekaterina had many responsibilities. She had to be an example to the others. So each and every skill that her mother taught, her father forced her to hone to perfection. Rina became terrified of her failure and, by extension, her father. The weight of responsibility only increased when her sister was born. Now everything was about becoming a caring wife and bearing strong children. Rina had never entertained the idea of a spouse, but years of learning how to care for a plant and give it life had given her a deep-rooted maternal love of every living thing.
With such a soft personality, and high stress, all Yekaterina could do was work. And she buried herself in that work. To this day she still works on one task until she's sure it's done, and the very idea of giving up or failure fills her with fear, making her cry. She knows she's not very strong, but after her life of surviving her father, she won't be told she's weak.]

AIDS Cookie has been endlessly trailing around on this planet for seventeen years, they appear to be stuck. Whoops. So they took up role playing to pass the time, and have been doing so for three or four years. How interesting! They are located in the PST time-zone, for future globe-trotting reference! Well, let’s get this paper into the system! :
Today was hot, but that was okay. It was always hot, but the tall blond always finished her yard work long before the peek hours of heat could burn the back of her neck. She would return here several times during the day, but the garden needed little more than a few sprinkles of water to survive this heat.
Seeds were so vulnerable, so still and lifeless, and at first it had made it hard for Ukraine to believe that something that small could become a rose, or a tulip, or even a tree. Even harder to believe was that simple things like water and earth made it come alive, made it beautiful. That's what probably was so appealing about the manual labor to Yekaterina, despite having to constantly move up and down and hurt her already sore back.
She started to see herself in the seeds, started to see how they became so strong through simple means. And if you planted two trees close enough together, they would intertwine and become mightier than an oak. Rina appreciated that lesson, and the many others that agriculture had taught her. She took it all to heart.
Giving one last look over the garden to make sure nothing was missed, Yekarina went inside to fix herself an early lunch,. And maybe lay down a while on her aching back.
