Rules and Regulations
1. First and foremost? Be excellent to each other. This is probably the most important rule of any forum, and I hope that we won’t have a problem with this in the future. I do, however, have the nagging suspicion that it might happen if the drama llamas appear, thus the rule.
2. This is a Literate to Advanced Literate role play. Yes, I know, that might be stunning considering the material we’re working with, but just because it’s vaguely cracky, doesn’t mean that we’re not going to write awesome. C: What this means for you, as a player? You are expected to reach a minimum word count with posts (so other players have some meat to respond to), use spell-check, proofread your posts (for the homonyms your spell-check will miss), and use proper grammar and punctuation. If you do something out-of-the-ordinary as a stylistic thing, please note this in your application, and moderators will take this into consideration. We also ask for complete sentences, and NO CHAT SPEAK.
Exceptions to the chat speak rule are made for the “Communication” section, where your character may speak to other characters through texts, emails, IMs, etc. Then? Type as your character would!
3. Please remain active. We all have lives outside of the internet, so it’s understandable that people won’t be able to be online every minute of their life. Even your moderators can’t do that. What we DO ask of you is the following :
a. When your character is accepted, please make a post (wherever you want – it isn’t hard to find a place!) within 5 days. OOC posts do not count as your first post, I’m sorry. This rule is implemented to prevent name-whoring. I’ve seen it happen, so I’m working to prevent it.
b. Following your first post, we ask that you post at least once every week to week and a half. Really, that isn’t that much, and that is the BARE minimum. I’m certain no one should have a problem with that, though.
c. If you need to go on hiatus for ANY reason, please drop us a message in the Hiatus section of this board! You don’t even have to tell us why, just that you’re on hiatus and when you’ll come back. We’ll generally consider a character that doesn’t log in for a week on-hiatus, so if that fits your description, leave us a note so we don’t delete you during activity checks.
d. Meet the above minimum requirements prior to an activity check, otherwise your character is subject to deletion.
4. Use the appropriate format for your post. More on that is contained in the “References” Section.
5. I do not require players to not approach M-rated material. HOWEVER, I do ask that all M-rated topics of a sexual nature be started ONLY in the M-rated section of the board. Only players older than 16 will be able to access the board. For the password, please PM a moderator with proof of your age (we’ll generally take your word for it, haha) and one of us will give it to you. This will keep any potentially younger viewers from being scarred. M-rated for blood, gore, or language, however, will not be required to be re-located. (Hidden Word : Charming) If your topic begins one way, and becomes M-rated out of nowhere, that’s totally fine too! Sometimes creativity just –takes- it that way. Just alert a moderator if it needs to be moved into the M-rated forum. Failure to do so will result in extreme chiding and a warning strike.
6. I implement a 3 strike system. What this means is I give you three warnings. After three? Your account may be subject to deletion and purge without warning. After all, you technically will have received your warning. Harsh, certainly, but it must be done.
7. A word on pairings. Sometimes players can get wanky about this, so I will state this here, as well as in it’s topic : If you are a player who will only play a certain pairing with your character (say, for instance, Russia will ONLY play with China, or something), and you and that other player in question both agree on this term, you may enter your characters in as your One True Heart. A One True Heart pairing will be listed for you, and other players will now know that romance between your character and their own is impossible. However, if you have no problem with this, note that your character can be “polygamous” for the sake of this role play. It gives all players a chance to have multiple pairings played out. It is up to you how you run it. On the One True Heart page, I will also keep a list of who-is-dating-who, if you want. One night stands will not be recorded, but current relations will. 8. God-modding and Power-Play is wrong, and just don’t do it, okay? Your character is YOURS, and your partners character is THEIRS. Never shall the two meet. Another obvious thing? No killing someone else’s character without prior consent. Even then, keep that out of the main forum. You may use the alternate forum for that, where you will be using the character as their more… canon… selves than what I guess the main forum is.
9. About Reserving and Applying for Characters. You have a limit of 4 Characters Maximum in this role play. It may be any number of original, or canon, characters. However. You may not immediately claim another canon character just after finishing one. A moderator will let you know when you are cleared to claim another canon (generally? It’s just a short day or two waiting period). Original Characters do not receive as much stipulation, as they are not as popular.
